AVC reacts to news item

Asukika Village Council (AVC) has issued a rejoinder with regard to a news item which appeared in this daily on June 11 under the headline ‘Asukika G.B VCM’s demand fresh election of VCC Asukika’ by Hetio Swu G.B cum drawing teacher government high school Asukika.

In a press release issued by AVC, chairman, Khuwoto Swu, VCM’s Ahoto Swu and Hevikhe Swu along with members Vikashe Swu, Hokiya Swu and Moses Swu claimed that V. Hetio Swu was removed from the post of VCC Asukika by the government approval vide letter DEV/GEN-50/2011-12/313 dated June 15, 2012 on the condition that he did not resign from the post of drawing teacher even after the lapse of one year, which was unconstitutional.

The signatories also said, as per the direction of additional deputy commissioner Pughoboto the village council had a meeting and elected Khuwoto Swu as new VCC of Asukika with the support of three VCMs out of four VCMs which has been verified by DB’s.  

After scrutinizing the cases, the signatories said the additional deputy commissioner forwarded the letter to DC Zunheboto for appointment of VCC Asukika.

They also said the allegation made by V. Hetio Swu G.B cum drawing teacher against the D.B’s and authority in-charge over the elected VCC of Asukika was “baseless , false and without any foundation”.

Further, the village council, VCM’s and village council chairman has requested the authority in-charge to take necessary action against him.
