Awareness workshop on Digital India

The NSS Cell, Department of Youth Resources & Sports Nagaland along with State e-Management Team (SeMT) Department of Information Technology & communication, Nagaland conducted awareness workshop on Digital India on October 31 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.
Additional Director and HOD IT&C Longtiliba Longkumar addressed the gathering on the importance, utility and advantages of digital technology knowledge. He advised the NSS volunteers not to let digital technology over rule them rather rule with the power of digital technology. He also stated that, India talent (IT) plus (+) Information Technology (IT) is equal to (=) India Tomorrow. (IT+IT=IT).
Short display of film on over view on Digital India programme; why youth engagement (DI volunteers, MyGOV, Common Service Centre) and interactive session on quiz, poster design, strategy making were held in order to disseminate information on ICT in education & opportunities, National Scholarship portal, Digital locker, E-waste, Disha, Cyber security. 
Competition on quiz, poster design, skit and strategy making were held. In the quiz competition, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma got the first position, Government Polytechnic, Kohima as the second and the Mt. Olive College, Kohima in the third position. In skit, Kohima Scince College, Jotsoma bagged the first position while Don Bosco College, Kohima got the second and Kohima Bible College as the third position. 
In strategy making contest, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma got the first position, Modern College, Kohima second and Kros College, Kohima third. In the poster design competition, Kohima Science College, Jotsoma bagged the first position while Alder College, Kohima second and Japfu Christian College, Kigwema bagged third. 
The prizes were sponsored by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, Nagaland, Kohima and the National e-Governance Division.
