Employees of Food Corporation of India observed a one-day countrywide token strike on Friday to press for their demands put forth before the management of the corporation as well as to the Ministry of Food on April 11, 2016. This was the first phase agitation observed by the employees. According to the association’s general secretary, MC Tyagi, the next phase of agitation would be observed on June 9 & 10, followed by an indefinite fast and strike from June 29.
