Kohima DPDB discusses MGNREGA Convergence fund

Special meeting of Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) in connection on MGNREGA Convergence Fund was held at DPDB’s Conference Hall on May 27.
Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Resources & Sport and MTF and chairman DPDB, Khriehu Liezietsu chaired the meeting and welcomed all the members present. 
DIPR report said that during discussion, deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Rovilatuo Mor, IAS informed that the special meeting was convened in connection to the MGNREGA Convergence Fund which was reverted back to all the elected members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly under Kohima district for not been able to materialize due to technical reasons. 
In this regard, the DC highlighted the proposal submitted by all the elected members under the district. 
He said that the board has decided to approve the proposal for onward execution of works within their respective Assembly Constituencies.
On the agenda of celebration of World Environment Day 2016, the DC informed that as decided in the last DPDB meeting, the Kohima DPDB would be carrying out social work on June 4 along the Secretariat road to Assembly Secretariat where tree plantation would be carried out by Kohima DPDB. 
The board also deliberated on the issues pertaining to tree saplings and the financial implications of the social work where Khriehu Liezietsu volunteered to provide refreshment for the day while the board decided to contribute Rs. 1000 each (DPDB members) to carry out the plantation drive with the available local tree species from the Forest department.
