Church advocacy programme held by CSS

Care and Support Society (CSS) organized a one-day church advocacy programme in collaboration with pastors’ fellowship Mokokchung town, sponsored by Legislator Forum on AIDS. 
A press release by CSS managing director, Imchawati Kichu stated that resource person were from DAPCU and LFA, Nagaland, Hukatoli Choppy. DAPCU shared about the present scenario of Nagaland and Mokokchung, stated that scenario was 0.80% and emphasised on the route of transmission and that transmission through sex was very high. DAPCU said that since sex was related to moral issue the churches needed to consider this seriously as Nagaland stands at 89% and Mokokchung at 90% where AIDS was concerned.  
Hukatoli Choppy shared about the role of the church on HIV because funds were reducing from funding agencies and in near future there would be no funding for HIV. She said that a lot of issues are being raised because the sexual route of transmission was very high and church had the resources like men power, money and so on to play a vital role on the issue. 
Altogether 13 churches participated wherein the participants decided to join hand with the slogan “together we” to bring down HIV 90% sexual route of transmission to 0 %.
