
The Silver Jubilee celebration of “Music-Fest”, an annual music festival of the Mokokchung Town Baptist Church, Youth Department was organized, Thursday, under the theme ‘Selah’.
The jubilee musical extraveganza begun with the opening ceremony by the officers of the 9 youth fellowships under MTBA. Then the first song of the event , entitled ‘The Messiah’, was presented by Wabapang Kichu and the Band, this was suppsositely the first song performed by
him and his band, representing Medical Y/F, in the first Musicfest with the same theme, ‘The Messiah’.
It was then headed by the Huntingboots with the number, ‘I Know what lies ahead’, which was accorded with a big round of applause. Not only for their energetic song, but mostly for there participation and presence, since the Chairman of Hungtingboots, O Moa Imsong designed the logo of the Musicfest and the brain behind the Hungtingboots, I Temsu Jamir was the Convenor of the first Music-fest, so do, most of the members had been part of the event.
They were followed by a lot of the old timers (in accordance to the Musicfest participiation and contemporary artists), like Mayang Imchen with Bass Solo – dancing with the bass, veteran Tialiba & Tiayanger with their musical piece ‘Requiem the fifth’, Yimjung Ola, the cadet clubs of Arkong, Kichutip & Salangtem with their well rehearesed folk fusion presentation. These were followed by a piano piece by Anok, then the renowned singing cousin sisters – Yashirenla & Imlamongla, Beyond Sunday and Tune Up Channel (winner of the Best Nagaland Band at
the 2015 Hornbill International Rock Contest).
The celebration also featured Meyilemla and Watimoa & Aosunep. But the night was stolen by the The Youth Choir, conducted by Associate Pastor Yanglu Pongen and 5 member ‘Girls Band’ with their songs ‘Every Praise’ and ‘Hopes and Dreams’, respectively.
The Closing act was done by the Crossroad Clubs of A&D, Sunrise, Tongdentsuyong and UCF.
The celebratory congregation was exhorted by MTBA Pastor Ponen Longchar and the comperes of the celebration were Limasenla and Tsungtaluba Imchen.
