Expressing displeasure over state government’s decision to transfer Mopong EAC HQ, which was under ADC Tobu, to Angjangyang SDO (civil) sub-division, the Ad hoc Town Committee Mopong (ATCM) has appealed to the state government to reinstate Mopong EAC HQ under Tobu ADC HQ.
In a press release, ATCM vice chairman A.Yangkon Konyak pointed out that seven recognised villages, four unrecognised villages and Mopong EAC HQ were under the establishment of Tobu ADC. However, he said that the Mopong EAC HQ under Tobu ADC was transferred and brought under SDO (civil) Angjangyang without consultation and consent of Mopong Hongkong general public.
According to ATCM vice chairman, the general public and leaders of Mopong Hongkong villages at a meeting held at Mopong town on May 11, 2015 unanimously resolved that all the 11 villages including Mopong EAC HQ would remain under Tobu ADC sub-division. ATCM also stated that the public of Mopong circle were determined to stand by the memorandum submitted to the chief minister for retention of Mopong EAC HQ under Tobu ADC.
