All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers’ Association (ANEFWA) has condemned the June 25 incident at jail Colony Kohima wherein Neiba Zumvü of Nachama village physically assaulted one of its members, Devendar W/C Jugali while on duty without any reason.
In a press statement All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers’ Association (ANEFWA) president Kelhousevi and general secretary Ayeto Sumi said that the case was not an “isolated case” and that similar incident of “manhandling/assault” of the department staff departmental staff by unscrupulous persons in the society has become a regular affair in the recent past.
The association appealed to the general public to refrain from such unwarranted act of violence as it hampers the performance of the department.
Further, the association has informed that it will not remain silent but would resort to agitation in the form of complete shutdown of power supply to the particular area/district if such incidents repeats in future.
