March 21, 2016 | by admin

Naga students’ Federation (NSF) commemorating the 30th NSF martyrs day paid homage to late Vikhozo Yhoshü and late Kekuojalie Sachu on Sunday at the NSF Martyrs park Kohima attended by NSF officials, ANCSU, ASU and martyrs’ family members.
In the brief address at the spot, NSF president Subenthung said 30 years back two students sacrificed their lives while NSF protested against the introduction of IPS cadre in Nagaland and over the extension of the disturbed area belt from 5-10 km in international border. He said everyone will die one day but the matter of importance was how he died. He said later late Zekope Krome also succumbed to injury on August 15 1987.
Pastor Pochury Baptist church Kohima Rev. Zhiwhuotho Katiry offered the prayer during commemoration observance. Later, NSF president Subenthung, NSF general secretary Boveio Poukai Duo and ASU vice president Meguo Ratsa laid wreaths at the three graves.
It may be mentioned that on March 20, 1986, late Kekuojalie Sachü, a student of Government Higher Secondary School, Seikhazou and late Vikhozo Yhoshü from Mezhür Higher Secondary School, were shot by the NAP while joining the NSF in protesting against the introduction of IPS cadre in Nagaland and over the extension of the Disturbed Area Belt from 5 kilometers to 20 km. Every year, March 20 is commemorated as the NSF Martyrs Day.
