ANCSU demands release of scholarships

Reminding the department of higher education about the grievances faced by the student community due to delay of scholarship, the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) said the delay has adversely affected the student community to a large extent, which, it maintained was “unjust on the part of the government and the concerned department.”
In a letter addressed to the director higher education, the ANCSU president Zhoku Thuluo, general secretary Benjong Longchar and education secretary Viranu Ltu pointed out that the “students rely much on the scholarships for their academic requirements”. They said the delay in the disbursal of scholarship has “created further confusion and discouragement to the student community as a whole.” The association, therefore, has requested the responsible authority to take affective measures immediately and release all the scholarships at the earliest as assured by the department of higher education on August 7, 2014.
