Legal literacy and awareness campaign held in Tizit, Mon

Mon District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) organized legal literacy and awareness campaign with village functionaries, Non Government Organisations (NGOs), students and women leaders at additional deputy commissioner’s Conference Hall, Tizit at Mon district on July 20.

The resource persons of the programme were member secretary, Mon District Legal Services Authority, Nokshei Kano, deputy secretary, Mon District Legal Services Authority and penal lawyers Manon Konyak and Dominic Kaiba.

The speakers spoke on the topics – Rights of a consumer, right to legal aid, village council act and Right To Information (RTI) respectively.

The campaign also introduced numerous services provided by legal services authority from the district to state and national level.

This was followed by interaction session and booklets published by Nagaland state legal services were distributed.

Advisor, Konyak union Tizit unit Nokthak Konyak in his remark expressed his desire to have more of such campaign and seminars saying that this was the need of the hour to make citizens aware on their rights. 

He also thanked the district and state level legal services authority for bringing such services at their doorsteps and also appealed to the people to avail the services.
