GPRN/ NSCN of Yimchungru region has expressed discontentment over the alleged arrest of its collector of Pungro division Thongthong Khapur GPRN/ NSCN, by Assam Rifle posted at Kiphire on July 16.
According to a release, N.T. Yamthong, RAO, GPRN NSCN, Yimchungru region alleged that Assam Rifle personnel had seized some ‘challan house tax, soul census and some few amounts’ belonging to them.
He also said that the arrested cadre was released but the seized items were not released. Yamthong, further appealed to Assam Rifles to strictly adhere to the ‘cease fire ground rules’ and not to create ‘unwanted situation’ amongst the people when ‘peace and reconciliation’ was restoring in various parts of the region.
GPRN/NSCN Yimchungru region further stated that such kind of ‘unruly act’ of Assam Rifle was detrimental toward the ‘peaceful existence’ of the people in the area and asked them to maintain ‘peace and tranquility’ in the interest of the common people.
