Directorate of Agriculture (DoA) observed World Food Day on theme “Social protection and agriculture: breaking the cycle of rural poverty” on October 16 at Directorate of Agriculture conference hall, Kohima with director of agriculture Bandangyanger as theme speaker. In the programme director highlighted the importance of reducing rural poverty and granting access to food or means to buy food. Bandangyanger also asked the officers and staff to work harder with sincerity, to achieve the vision 2015 and to eradicate poverty in the state. He added that work opportunities, provision of food, money and services were designed to support the vulnerable and help the poor in society to do away hunger and poverty.
