Yaongyimchen Community Bio-Diversity Conservation Area (YCBDCS) under Longleng district witnessed the arrival of the first batch of Amur Falcon on October 12, as per report from the convenor LEMSACHENLOK, a committee for conservation of wild life and forest in Yaongyimchen village area.
Official information from DC Longleng, Y. Denngan Avennoho Phom (NCS) stated that the YCBDCS was started in the year 2010 by villagers of Yaongyimchen, Alayong and Sanghu, under the initiative of executive secretary Phom Baptist Church association and convenor of LENSACHENLOK.
It stated that the committee had been working tirelessly without sponsors towards conservation of the Amur Falcon in this area.
The district administration Longleng has issued order to all village council for protection of Amur Falcon in line with wild life protection act 1972, wherein stern action would be taken on defaulting village through withholding of VDB fund.
It also stated that any individuals and tourists are welcome to visit the roosting site.
