
Minister school education, Yitachu sought the support of all stake holders for better implementation of the new education policy in the state. Yitachu said this while gracing the parents’ day celebration of St. Francis Higher Secondary School Medziphema October 10.
He said ‘old education policy have been misunderstood” although it called for education of every child. “The good intention of the education policy failed to attract the attention of the parents and teachers towards bringing out quality and value education to our children. It is because we misconstrued the good intention,” Yitachu said.
However, according to Yitachu, the implementation of new education policy needed the participation of every stake holders, so that the policy would be best suited in our state.
On the occasion, the minister also lamented on the missing of truth in the Naga society, and said Nagas have failed to uphold the truth as “we” have been divided and controlled by many isms. To let the truth prevail in the society, Yiatchu said Nagas have to move forward from the past “tribal unity” to “Naga unity”.
The occasion was also graced by ADC, Medziphema Sarah S. Jamir as guest of honour.
Sarah reminded the parents the need to spend quality time with children to guide and urged the students to master themselves so as to have the true power that comes from within. She challenged the students “to diversify their vision and think beyond the while collar job by exploring the horizon.”
Fr. Kurian the manager delivered the welcome address. School report was presented by principal Fr. Roy which showcased the achievement of the school, its vision and aspirations for future.
Chief guest also honored the senior most teachers like, A. P. Joseph, who had served the school for the last 32 years, Somsila and Shanta who have completed 28 and 25 years respectively.
Two and half hour cultural extravaganza was arranged by the staff and students to entertain the parents and public and to express their love and appreciation to them. Kepekho-U Krose proposed the vote of thanks.
