Capacity building programme on peace building was organised by Peace Channel Kohima on October 12, for Peace Club members of GMS, PWD Kohima with coordinator Kohima district, Victor Yhome and former peace channel animator, Mengusenuo Sachü as resource persons.
A press release by Peace Channel Kohima, stated that resource person Yhome started the exercise with peace meditation for students to experience a moment of relaxation and peace within.
He told the students that other negative vices like, ego, hatred, jealousy, anger, lust and so forth blocked the person from experiencing the core of peace which was inherently present in the heart, stated the release.
Yhome also advised the volunteers to be prepared to face and withstand any kinds of challenges on the path towards building peace, while he also affirmed that peace channel was to transform youth to usher in a society of tranquillity and oneness.
Meanwhile, resource person Sachü spoke on the topic, “substance abuse” and highlighted the harmful effects of abuses caused on physical and mental health of oneself and other.
She further cautioned the youth about the grave consequences that develop in the family leading to poverty, widowhood and disruption of the peaceful family atmosphere, stated the release.
