Training on pest management

Department of agriculture Tuensang organised one-day sensitisation training on integrated pest management at Hakching village on October 2 and attended by 30 farmers. Subject matter specialist Menungchetba highlighted on management of rice gundhi bug and stressed on setting light traps, field sanitation, use of rotten craps bait, especially during milky stage of paddy crops for management of grasshopper. It stated that the methods involved conserving natural predators, flooding of fields and sanitation of the fields.
