Naga Council on receiving public complaints on various labourers particularly immigrant labourers charging exorbitant rates for daily wages to the tune of `250/- upto `300/- per labour per day said the rate was too high and beyond the capacity of the economically poor citizens of the state.
Naga Council vice president (Admn) Vikato Zhimomi and treasurer D. Rakho in a press release stated that while certain sections of the public requested for a public debate to highlight the random daily wages charged by labourers, also asked the government department/agency dealing with wages to take up the matter and rectify serious anomaly through official directives in the media for the benefit of all.
