Assam Rifles personnel were fired upon on Thursday when a team were on their way to organize medical camps at Pongkhungri and Avangkhu to be held on September 11. According to AR sources, a medical team along with other personnel were sent to the area. While on their way, cadres of the NSCN (K) fired on the AR team. However, the firing was ineffective and no one was injured, sources added. The official said that the AR would go ahead with the medical camp as planned in the two villages. (Staff Reporter)
