The State audition for the Hornbill International Rock Contest (HIRC) 2015 would be held on Saturday (October 17) at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma.
The audition will commence at 11 am. On-spot registration will be extended to the participating bands at the venue before the live audition begins.
Each participating band will be given 20 minutes to present their songs, including set up time. The judges for the audition are Thejove Medeo, Andrew Ngullie and Abemo Enyie.
The entry at the venue, RCEMPA, would be made free for all those wanting to witness the live audition. Even this year, it is expected that the rock contest will attract bands from all parts of the country. The event is being organized by the Music Task Force (MTF), Government of Nagaland, in association with Pepsi MTV Indies and Northeast Today. The event will be managed by Sky Entertainment and Nagaland Outdoors’ Club (NOC).
The top winner of this year’s HIRC will win a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh, while the 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up will also fetch prize money of Rs. 5 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh respectively.
Attractive prizes (not cash) have also been arranged for winners of individual categories, including best vocalist, best guitarist, best keyboardist, best drummer and best bassist, the organizers informed.
