
Encouraging youth to join business sector, deputy commissioner of Mokokchung Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS said youth venturing into this sector would solve unemployment problem in the State.
He said this while speaking at the 9th Phase of the Micro Loan Distribution of the Mokokchung Entrepreneurs Consortium (MEC) Thursday, at Mokokchung DC’s Conference Hall (District Planning Office).
Sushil while lauding MEC for their farsighted and noble initiatives also encouraged other youth to be innovative and venture into business sector.
Distributing the checks to the ten identified beneficiaries, he encouraged the beneficiaries to be prompt in returning their loans so that others can also avail further loans and avail the service.
Earlier, while chairing the function, MEC president stated it was a conglomerate of likeminded established entrepreneurs of Mokokchung town, who wanted to assist and uplift the struggling entrepreneurs. It was also informed that MEC has assisted 92 entrepreneurs (beneficiaries) thus far, exclusive of the 10 beneficiaries of the 9th phase, with 98-99% of loan recovery. In the programme, short speeches were also delivered by outstanding beneficiaries Imlitola and Biren Baruah.
