
Noting that some teachers were enjoying their salaries despite not being present at their places of posting, the minister for education and SCERT Yitachu has asked concerned teachers to remain in their places of posting.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the newly upgraded government middle school (GMS) Liphanyan under Ralan SDO (C) headquarters, Wokha district on June 3. Minister for school education and SCERT, Yitachu graced the occasion as chief guest and parliamentary secretary for labour & employment, border affairs, Mmhonlumo Kikon as special guest.
According to a DIPR report, the minister also urged upon the teachers to be sincere and efficient in contributing their services to the society.
Stressing on the importance of equal education for all in the family regardless of gender, Yitachu said it was the educated person who led the family, society, tribe, state and nation.
Minister asserted teachers and parent should know the actual position of the upcoming students whether they were being taught well.
He wished that with the inauguration of the GMS Liphanyan building, the school would become the centre of wisdom for the area.
Minister also appealed to the people of Liphanyan, who were living at the border of Assam, to develop correct attitude towards their neighbour.
He said such areas were bound to have some problems in one way or the other but that could be settled amicably with positive thoughts and exchange of respect for one another.
“You cannot choose your neighbour as you choose your friend, your neighbour will remain as it is”, Yitachu, therefore, said it was important to maintain peaceful coexistence wherever they lived.
In his address, parliamentary secretary Mmhonlumo Kikon said he was proud of Liphanyan village council’s contribution towards unity and hard work proved through action.
He said GMS Liphanyan was the best building and best performing school in Wokha district.
Kikon requested the minister for school education to create one post of SDEO to administer schools in the area. Others who spoke on the occasion included DC Wokha, A. Robin Lotha and Ralan Area Lotha Hoho Chairman.
The inaugural function was chaired by ADC, SSA, DMA Wokha, P. Zubenthung. Dedicatory prayer was offered by L. Mhonbemo Opung, Pastor LBC and invocation prayer by Aso Tungoe, Home Evangelist LBC, welcome address and presentation was given by Thsezamo Kithan Chairman Liphanyan village council. Vote of thanks was proposed by Nyinsao Tungoe and benediction prayer by Thungsali Tungoe women leader LBC. The programme was attended by various departmental officials. Highlights of the programme included presentation of special number, choreography, singing (he is still working in me) by students of GMS Liphanyan and folk song by women group Liphanyan village.
