LRD bids farewell to secretary

A farewell programme in honour of Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, YL Jami (IAS), who has been the administrative head of Directorate of Land Records and Survey, Land Revenue Department, since July 2011 was organised by the Directorate in its conference hall, Dimapur, today.
In his farewell speech, the Secretary has lauded the officers and staff for according with such a grand farewell programme in his hnour.
Jami said it is important for the employees to be regular since the state government has initiated ‘no work no pay’ policy all over the state. He also advised his subordinates to learn how to distribute work and not sit idly complaining there is no work.
Commenting on the recent rampant appointments, the senior bureaucrat said appointment should be done only after proper scrutiny of sanctioned posts, financial plan etc. and not on recommendations from legislators.
While hinting that legislators, judiciaries and executives have their own roles to play, he said government employees as executives should be committed in their assigned task. He concluded his speech by urging the departmental staff not to hold any grudge against him with regard to conducting of duties as it was all done under official necessity and not otherwise.
The programme was chaired by the Director of Land Records and Survey, EN Kithan, while the welcome address was delivered by the Joint Director, Neilhoutsü Teruno.
Farewell speech on behalf of State government was delivered the under secretary, Limanenla (NCS) and on behalf of Land Records department by the deputy director, Land Records and Survey, L Khaming. The vote of thanks was delivered by Vilarietuo Kire, Additional Director of Land Records and Survey.
