During routine frisking duty, Kohima police seized one cartoon containing 2100 bottles of banned Phensedyl cough syrup worth Rs 201,600 from the possession of one Sinam Rakesh (27), son of late Keshori Singh from Kakching village under Thoubal district, Manipur.
SDPO & PRO, Atu Zumvü, said the consignment was reportedly procured from Guwahati, Assam, at Rs 96 per bottle and was supposed to be delivered at Imphal. The items were recovered from a Manipur bound bus bearing Registration No. MN-01/1514 at Peducha Checkgate.
A regular case in this connection has been registered with Sechü (Zubza) Police Station.
