SCYA conducts ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in Chumukedima

Sabalie Colony Youth Association (SCYA) launched Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Sabalie Colony, Ward-8, Chumukedima October 23 with the support from the Sabalie colony Council of Ward-8 Chumukedima town.
Toshitsungba Aier, IGP, PHQ, Nagaland Police, who launched the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, encouraged the public to support the Clean India Mission by adopting such social works.
He also emphasized on how public could keep the locality clean by adopting “Community Garbage Disposal” and enforce Closed Latrines in the colony.
In a press release, SCYA president Shikato and general secretary Benjamin stated that during the campaign the association conducted a community social work by cleaning the clogged drains along the road and filled all the pot holes on the road.
SCYA pointed out that an important road passes through the colony connecting the NH 29 to NIT Nagaland, adding that it was the only road to commute for the public.
Sabalie colony is located on the foot hill of the Patkai hill range and every year there is accumulation of huge volume of top soil which is washed down from the mountain tops causing sanitation and cleanliness in the colony is a major problem every year.
Meanwhile, SCYA has expressed gratitude and appreciation to responsible individuals for financial and material support which has made the programme a success.
