US District Judge Esther Salas announced on Wednesday (October 22) that Teresa Giudice would serve her time behind bars at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut, the inspiration of Netflix’s hit series “Orange Is the New Black”. On the same day, the judge also announced that she would not recommend Teresa to spend most of her prison time at a halfway house.
Teresa’s new attorney, Stacy Ann Biancamano, previously asked for a recommendation from Esther to allow the star of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” to serve 12 of her 15-month sentence at a halfway house, where she would be able to work and visit home on the weekends. The request was opposed by assistant U.S. attorneys Rachael Honig and Jonathan Romankow.
Teresa, who was previously dropped by her crisis manager because of her request to serve her sentence at Danbury Federal Prison, is due to surrender by January 5.
