Khiamniungan welfare society DEF Tuensang organized Tsukum festival of Khiamniungan tribe here at its treasurer’s residence Saturday.
Superintendent of police (SP) Tuensang Vikas, who graced the occasion as chief guest, urged upon the Khiamniungans to preserve their rich culture and tradition through generations.
SP Tuensang also called upon Khiamniungan people to maintain one’s identity, co-operate with one another and work toward a common goal.
On the occasion, chief guest gave away the certificate and cash to Pukhao who got the first division in B. Sc. examination. KTC advisor and KUT president also spoke at the celebration.
Essence of Tsukum festival was pronounced by Pongom GB, while welcome address was delivered by inspector (SB) Kaikho. Invocation was said by KBC Tuensang pastor S. Mono. Phunyang and group presented a special number on the occasion.
