Angami Catholic Youth Association (ACYA) of St. Francis de Sales (SFS) Parish Kohima Town held its 31st ‘Youth Day’ under the theme “For the greater glory of God and men”, on January 27 at SFS Parish, Kohima which was also marked by induction of new office bearers and members.
Speaking on the occasion, Vihunyii Vincent, a senior member of ACYA lauded the past office bearers and members for their contributions and service to the association. He said that the outgoing office bearers sacrificed their time, energy, money and gave their best to the association and for the glory of God.
He also urged them to continue the good work through prayer and guidance towards the association.
Vincent also encouraged the new office bearers to face the challenges ahead and work for greater heights.
Short speeches were also delivered by the newly inducted president, Peleneizo Joseph and Ketosiinuo Margareth.
Earlier, Zeriizo Norbert unfurled the ACYA flag, Rev. Fr. Alex Vizo invoked God’s blessing, Nounenuo Magdalene, Teresa Belho, Khriekeyienuo Catherine and Anna Belho said the association reports.
The function was chaired by Kelhoumedo Andrew, Vilasalie James pronounced the benediction prayer while vote of thanks was proposed by Mhasiphizo Michael.
Meanwhile meritorious awards were given to the members and new office bearers and special extravaganza marked the occasion.
