Valedictory function of the oil and gas conservation fortnight which kick started on January 15 in Kohima culminated Thursday at Book Marc conference hall, Dimapur with director, food and civil supply, Sedevikho Khro as chief guest.
Expressing his thoughts on conservation of energy, Sedevikho was of the view that if one has to think about the fortnight it has to be thought by an individual not as community or others as it starts within an individual to conserve energy.
He said conservation of energy need to start from urban areas including implementation, adding that a time may come when there would be a “full stop” in everything since people were exploiting non-renewable energy. He also urged people to inculcate ‘dignity of labour’ to save energy, stating “If you and I have sense; there is no need to observe conservation fortnight”.
As part of the valedictory function, on the spot open quiz competition was conducted where prizes were given away.
