State excise department during the month of August seized 8170 bottles of assorted IMFLs and another 2444 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, and 2000 bottles of cough syrup. In a press release, deputy commissioner (NC), excise, Dimapur, Lanuwati Jamir said the department deployed three wings-one district staff, mobile squad and narcotic cell to conduct raids in all the hotels, restaurants and lounges selling liquors.
He said the department “realized Rs. 3.54 lakhs as fine amount, adding, the department was also keeping round the clock vigil to thwart any attempt to “smuggle liquor” into the district and state.
