In a purported retaliation to the recent incidents at Ralan area, the Adivasis union, Namtola, under Sonari sub-division of Assam has called for total blockade starting August 13.
According to sources, volunteers of adivasis students’ union were not allowing movement of any vehicles including goods, passengers and private vehicles.
It was not known for how long the blockade would be enforced, however, if the blockade continued for even a week, there was certainty of Mon district facing shortage of essential commodities as the blockade has been enforced on the lifeline of Mon district.
