Royal Club Kohima to organize inter school debate competition

As part of the silver jubilee celebration, Royal Club Kohima (RCK) organizes  Royal Kohima inter debate competition on August 30 and 31 featuring 16 participating schools from Kohima districts.

The participating schools were categorized into three zones where zone A includes- Northfield, G. Rio School, Bethel HSS, Mt. Hermon HSS, Khedi Baptist School, Zone B’s are- Chandmari HSS, Modern School, Charity School, Baptist High, Don Bosco HSS, Zone C- Dainty Buds, Model HSS, Fernwood School, Holy family School, Minister Hill Baptist HSS and Coraggio School.

Schedule for the competition for the zones are Zone A at 10 a.m. at Northfield School, Zone C on August 31 at 1.30 p.m. at Danty Buds and Zone B on August 30 at Baptist High at 2 p.m.

The organizer in a release has informed that the speaker in favor of the motion for the host school shall be the ‘Mover” for the zonal debate where the participants shall be allotted 2 minutes after the last speaker from the opposition bench to sum up the debate.

It further informed that each speaker shall be given four minutes to speak and a warning bell shall be given at the end of the third minute and the final bell at the end of the fourth minute.

Four speakers from each zonal competition will be selected to go to the final round and that all participants were expected to participate in neat and clean school uniform.

It further informed that each participating schools may attend the competition with atleast 30 students and two teachers.

Best speaker (individual) will be awarded a cash of Rs. 3000 with certificate and a library book coupon worth Rs. 5000 for his/her school, runner up for individual Rs. 2000 with certificate and library book coupon worth Rs. 3000 for his/her school, participants from the zonal competition will receive book coupon worth Rs. 300 each with certificate of participation and participants in the final debate will receive a book coupon worth Rs. 500 each with certificate of participations.

In the event of a tie, the organizer’s stated that the chairman shall gave the right to casting of vote and also the decision of Royal Club Kohima shall be final and binding.
