Mekokla village council condemns killing

Mekokla village council (MVC) has condemned the firing and allegedly by 17th Assam Rifles at Mekokla village on February 27 where an NSCN (I-M) Cadre Ashan Razapeyu Kyong region was killed.

MVC chairman LC. Nyanmungo Kikon stated that the victim was innocent and un-armed and that such this kind of arbitrary action of 17 AR was against the ongoing cease- fire agreement between the GoI and NSCN (I-M).

Hence such incidents that disturb the peaceful environment should not occur in the near future, added MVC.
