Urban development department (UDD), municipal administration cell has informed on usage of nomenclature by officials appointed against the dissolved three municipal councils and 16 town councils in the state.
It stated that whenever municipal councils and towns councils are constituted and normal functions are resumed, the officials to perform and discharge the duties of the municipal councils and town councils shall be addressed as ‘executive officer’. However, in the event the constituted municipal council(s)/town council(s) is/are dissolved, any official(s) appointed by the government to oversee and discharge the responsibilities of the dissolved municipality/municipalities shall be known by the designation ‘administrator’.
Therefore, the department has instructed all concerned officials to adhere to the laid down Sections of the Act and comply with the Government’s Notification and desist from using any other nomenclature other than ‘administrator’ in the present dissolved situation and ‘executive officer’ in normal circumstances.
