With an objective to maintain the record of students’ data and to ascertain the proper functioning of schools/institutions, Yimchuger Akherü Arihako (YAA) the apex students’ organization of Yimchunger community toured Shamator area from May 15 to 18 as its 3rd phase of “educational tour”.
YAA team disclosed that during the tour it was learnt that there was shortage of subject teachers, lack of infrastructural and maintenance facilities, lack of students’ allowance, irregularities of teachers, proxy appointments etc. in “many schools”
In a press release, YAA president Akiuba Yimchunger and vice president John Kips has appealed the concerned VECs and federating unit students’ presidents to strictly adhere to YAA resolution and directed them to check the institutions from time to time ascertaining the proper functioning of the school. The association has cautioned that “impersonation/proxy teachers” should not be entertained and asked the units to report to its office if the directives were violated. YAA has also informed that the fourth phase of “educational tour” would be under Pungro area shortly for which the teachers have been asked to be in the station.
Further, YAA has appealed the education department to address the stated grievances for the general interest of student community. The association has expressed gratitude to the state government/education department for the recent upgradation of GHSS at Pungro, Shamator and Chessore.
