Akhoya Village Council (AVC) has expressed displeasure with M/S. Maytas & Gayatri (J.V) Company’s “mindless and abrupt abandonment of the road construction work” between Changtongya and Longleng despite “our cooperation and service rendered towards the success of the project.”
In a press release, AVC chairman S.Kilang Longkumer and secretary I Chuba Jamir said “as a result, the road in question becomes dusty during winter and muddy in summer and the public transports ply with great risk of vehicular accidents day and night.”
AVC, therefore, has demanded that the company resume work without any further delay and “fulfill all the commitments made to the public in letter and in spirit.”
The village council stated that till such time that the company resumed its work in full swing, it would “confiscate all the machineries”, belonging to the company, which were left behind under its jurisdictions.
AVC cautioned that the “action shall enforce with immediate effect.”
