Tizit Town Public Union (TTPU) expressed resentment against the alleged “internal arrangement” by some individuals/groups to divert the foothill road entry point from Tizit Hqs. (Forest Colony) to other location which had already been surveyed and approved by the responsible department and Nagaland Foot Hill Road Coordination Committee.
In a statement, TTPU president B.L. Leijat Konyak and general secretary C. Ayan Konyak reminded that Konyak Union, Tizit had already supported and given its consent on the proposed entry point at Tizit Hqs. (Forest Colony). TTPU asserted that 27 village councils out of 28 has also signed and supported the same. TTPIU said the alignment survey of 1978-79 was approved by the PWD (R&B) and the state government in 1984-85 but was later diverted without the consent of the public by some vested individuals to Lapa Lampong and it was “never materialized.”
TTPU urged responsible authority not to let unwanted situation arise like the one in 1985 where work was stalled owing to diversion of the foothill road by some vested interests.
