AR apprehends NSCN (K) cadre

Troops of 33 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (K) cadre along with arms and ammunition from jail colony, Mon town, Wednesday.
The cadre has been identified as “Self Styled Seargent” Manki Konyak.
AR team recovered one AK Rifle, one 12 Bore Rifle, one Pistol and huge quantity of ammunition and warlike stores.
According to AR source, based on specific intelligence, troops of Assam Rifles searched the house of Tongmeth Konyak, who is a yellow card holder of NSCN(K).
Konyak along with his bodyguard Foji Konyak were released as per Cease Fire Ground Rules. However, the unauthorized warlike stores recovered during the operation were seized, AR source added.
