In a shocking and gruesome incident a headless and armless body of an infant girl was recovered Monday around 12 noon by the Zunheboto PS personnel some 100 metres near Zunheboto PS.
According to police sources, the infant was reportedly thrown into the gutters where police suspect that some stray dogs may have eaten the body parts.
The infant was found wrapped inside polythene bag. The body was later buried at the cemetery by colony GBs, STHs and Zunheboto PS staff. Police along with the GBs and STH would launch a joint operation to nab the culprit, sources added.
Orgns condemn
GBs Old Town Zunheboto, STH Old Town and STH Zunheboto has vehemently condemned the inhuman and barbaric act. In a joint statement, STHZ executive Boholi, Sukhalu GB Old Town and Tokhuli chairperson STH Old Town said the incident was “a gross violation of human rights, inhuman act and crime against women”.
They urged every right thinking citizen to condemn the act. They also sought the cooperation of the public to nab the culprit at the earliest.
