ATMA Mon conducts 3 day webcasting

Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mon conducted three days webcasting on the ongoing Programme of Nagpur Krishi Vasant 2014 for the farmers of Mon district from February 11-13 at council hall, Mon.
 According to deputy project director ATMA Mon Subenthung webcasting program was organized in all ATMA districts, as per the notification issued by the govenrment of India, Ministry of Agriculture to prepare farmers for viewing the February 11-14 Krishi Vasant of Napur and the February 9 inauguration by the President of India. It is also learnt that 50 farmers from Mon district were selected to attend the programme at Nagpur.
 The main objective of the webcasting is to enable those farmers who could not attend the Nagpur Krishi Vasant programme physically to participate through live telecast of the events and to create awareness about the recent trend in scientific method of farming such as plant protection issues in India, importance of IPM in Crop Protection, insecticide resistance management, Use of ICT in pest management, management of birds and wild animals in agriculture, pesticide regulations in india, effective management of weeds in major crops and panel discussion and interaction with the farmers.
Around 200 farmers from all the blocks of Mon district participated in the programme, viewed the ongoing 2014 Krishi Vasant programme held at Nagpur and later discussed field problems and issues with the Agricultural officials. The technical session was led by the resource person, Agricultural Officer & BTT Convenor, ATMA, Mon Joakting Konyak. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by SMS, ATMA Tobu Block Nemchaba Jamir.  
 Earlier the program was chaired by deputy project director subenthung Odyuo, exhortation by APO LRD Mon Vikugla Kiba and DPRO Mon Hongpi. The program was attended by all subject matter specialists’ and block technology managers.
