Tsuthu vill gets community rice mill under EPA through IWMP-III

Community Rice mill under EPA through IWMP-III 2013-14 was inaugurated at Tsuthur village Monday by land resources development deputy director C.Vanchamo Ngullie in the presence of the watershed committee chairmen, DPO LRD, officer and staff and villagers.
Speaking at the function, C.Vanchamo Ngullie expressed hope Tsuthur villagers would know how to utilize and use the asset created through programs such as IWMP.
Sharing his concern on rampant cutting of trees in and around the village, deputy director said developmental activities should not take place at the cost of harming environment. He added cutting down of trees and development without soil conservation was opposite the policies of the department.
He asked the villagers to conserve soil and take care of environment.
Later, LRD deputy director also interacted with the self help group and also taught them about the technique of book keeping and record maintaining followed by interaction with the villager. 
LRD Kiphire district project officer Ahozhe Sumi gave the key note address and highlighted the activities taken up in the project. 
LRD asst project officer Puthuto Natso chaired the program. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness campaign on special program for environment and economic development (SPEED) and for the ongoing IWMP project in the district.
