Media prevented from entering polling stations

Polling in Kohima was peaceful without reports of any untoward accidents with 77.44% turnout. However, in polling station no. 6 Bayavü middle Kohima under 10 Northern Angami -1, media personnel were prevented from entering inside the polling station by the security officials though they produced the identity card issued by the Election Commission of India.

Only after the intervention of the presiding officers, they were allowed in. At another polling station no. 13 L. Khel, Kohima under 10 Northern Angami -1, media personnel were asked to move out from inside the polling station by the security officer saying that his superior gave him an order not to allow the media. The matter was brought to the notice of the CEO.
