An elderly man (non-local), who admitted himself with a fractured left hip at District Hospital Dimapur, died November 14 at 6:30 a.m., police said.
According to east police station officer-in-charge Among Jamir, hospital officials informed the police that a 70-year-old man, who identified himself as Babujan of Silchar Assam, came alone and admitted himself but succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Not a single family member visited the patient during his stay at the hospital. Police team also attempted to find out about the patient but could not obtain any information. Police said the body has been kept at district hospital Dimapur morgue for identification.
