Nagaland parliamentary secretary housing and treasury & Accounts Vikho-o Yhoshii launched the Nagaland Guava juice manufactured by MS R.K.S. fruits processing unit Kohima at here Thursday.
Speaking at the launching programme, Yhoshii expressed happiness on producing such juice in Nagaland and said such initiative would definitely encourage other entrepreneurs in the state.
He also encouraged the proprietor to aim for newer heights in the coming days. Rev. N. Paphino, who led the programme, invoked God’s blessing.
Speaking to this correspondent, the proprietor of the fruit processing unit Lezotuo Paphino said he started the guava farming four years ago and now 20% from his farm was bearing fruits. The guava juice bottle is available at Rs. 20 per bottle.
In brief address, district horticulture officer Qhutovi described Lezotuo Paphino as dedicated and hard working farmer, who achieved through his hard labour.
He said soil in Nagaland was fertile and it could grow variety of fruits and earn a living out of it. Guavas, also known as super food, are rich in dietary fiber, vitamins A and C, folic acid, and the dietary minerals, potassium, copper and manganese. Guava benefits the health as it is an antioxidant which prevents cells from damage of free radicals.
