Teihom Mercy crowned ‘Miss Mon 2013’

Miss Mon beauty pageant 2013 organised by Konyak Nyuphu Shekho Khong (KNSK) under the theme ‘Woman of substance’ was held on November 8 at council hall Mon with Kuko Mero, additional deputy commissioner, Mon as the guest of honour.

Teihom Mercy was declared Miss Mon 2013, Angap and Maoya as the 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up respectively.

The sub-title winners were Ashik Konyak – Miss Perfect Ten, Bernice – Miss Photogenic. Angap – Miss Beautiful Skin, Nyemin – Miss Congeniality and Ngamlih – Miss Talented. Altogether 18 contestants vied for the title.

The winner was given  cash prize of Rs. 50000, while the 1st runners-up and 2nd runners-up received Rs.30000 and Rs.20000 along with gift hampers respectively.

The sub-title winners were also given Rs. 2000 each with gift hampers. The judges for the beauty pageant were Ngoulanie Nyeiwang, Akumla, lecturer, Wangkhao College, Wankem, former Miss Mon 2011, Pakon Phom, SDO (Civil) Phomching and James Jami Asst. Commandant 12 IR. 

Host and hostess for the show were Dr. Chingjei and Ester, choreography by Ayei and Naomi, make-up by Sevolu and Tei-e Konyak as the hair stylist. 

Earlier, the show started with a short speech and prayer by Lomei Konyak, president KNSK.
All the 18 contestants were made to walk the ramp in traditional attire and designer’s wear.  The contestants also entertained the crowd with a special item.

Good Old Boys group; Thronlem Manlip and Dr. Chingjei and Simon entertained the gathering with their songs, while Atem Ang serenaded the contestants.

Deputy commissioner, Mon, Angau Thou, along with host of other officers, public leaders and general public, old and young, were present in the programme.
