Minister of Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam released the 50 years jubilee souvenir of the Department of Soil and Water Conservation (DoSWC) at the directorate’s conference hall.
According to SDO (C) Wondangbeni Kikon, the minister after releasing the souvenir said that fifty years was a good span of time to take stock of past performances and to work out better strategies for future challenges.
He also encouraged the department to work with dedication, sincerity and to excel.
Director of Soil and Water Conservation, Viliehu Nguzhu congratulated the officers and staff, both past and present for their services rendered to the state and also towards growth of the department.
He also mentioned that the primary strength of the department was skilled and professionally competent manpower. He further added that he was confident that the department will take up any challenge with highest standard of professional efficiency and decorum.
Presentation on revamping of state land use board was delivered by K. Khekiho Shohe, joint director. The programme was chaired by Vikeyie Kenya, commissioner and secretary.
