Yimchungrü Akherü Arihako (YAA) has vehemently condemned the alleged intimidation of Yimchungrü Tribal Council (YTC) president Throngso by Mukhe, a finance committee member of Khango Konyak-led NSCN-K Saturday. According to YAA president S Yansomong and general secretary Achung Jangleh, Mukhe threatened Throngso with life. YAA warned that should anything happen to YTC president or to any Yimchungrü tribal leaders, the person concerned would be held solely responsible.
Reminding everyone that Naga civil societies were relentlessly working to bring all political groups closer and to work for a common cause, YAA said such a callous act was highly condemnable and detrimental for any given society and was uncalled for.
Threatening or intimidating public leader had no place in today’s society as it was done only by un-mandated or illegal organisations, it added. Fully supporting YTC to stand firmly on its decision and extending co-operation till the matter was amicably settled, YAA said it was high time higher authorities disciplined their cadres to maintain the good name of their organisations.
