
Truck Owners & Drivers of Assam Sand Suppliers have resolved that the suppliers would only pay tax to NSCN (I-M) and four groups in NNPGs (NSCN-U, NSCN-R, NSCN-K and FGN) and not to pay extra money collected by Sand Union Dimapur.
In a press release, supplier Nito Sumi said this was resolved at a joint meeting on February 9, 2019 held at Lahorijan Sunday market, Delai Road, where they discussed at length the taxation on sand-laden trucks particularly at Delai gate and New Field gate.
According to Sumi, the tax imposed by groups on sand laden truck per trip (lorry Challan) include NSCN (I-M) Rs.500, NSCN (U) Rs.500, NSCN (R) Rs.300, NSCN (K) Rs.400, FGN Rs. 300 and union Rs.400. Gate Pass: NSCN (I-M) Rs.300, NSCN (U) Rs.300, NSCN (R) Rs.200 and NSCN (K) Rs.200.
It was also resolved that the suppliers would directly deal with the concern authority in the future. In this regard, the suppliers requested the NNPGs to consider their request.
Meanwhile, according to Sumi, the Karbi Anglong Sand and Stone Mahaldar and Supplier Association (KASSMSA) president Detward Bey has informed that the association has stopped collecting Rs.3000 per trip w.e.f February 6, 2019. Also, as requested by Karbi Anglong and Dimapur Transporter Association (KADTA) to roll back the sand price that was hiked by Rs.10 per cft on July 1, 2018, the KASSMSA has agreed to the request and fixed the previous rate of Rs.22 per cft.
