
Following complaints by some customers about the presence of suspected plastic rice in Kohima town on May 3, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) said the field staff officials along with the complainants visited the shop and collected six samples of rice and handed to the food safety officials for further necessary action.
In a press release, KMC administrator Kovi Meyase stated that food safety analyst of State Public Health Laboratory (SPHL) submitted their test report to KMC office with a result that presence of plastic in the rice was ruled out.
Meanwhile, KMC has appreciated the concern shown by the citizens and the efforts given by the SPHL. KMC has requested the general public to be aware of such activities and inform the office on the following numbers 8787589018, 9436203061, 8787409661.
