CVC warns encroachers

Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) reaffirming its earlier resolution has once again cautioned against encroachment of public roads, drainages, natural streams and rivulets within Chümoukedima area. 

A press release from CVC chairman, Razouvotuo Chatsu stated that, as per its earlier public notification, the CVC has reminded the denizens not to encroach on provisional spaces meant for drainages and road widening in the future. 

CVC also warned on encroachment of natural streams and rivulets by any individual or party, as such illegal and unauthorized activities can jeopardize the environment and result in unprecedented calamities. It stated that the rivulets and streams must be left undisturbed at all cost as it acted as natural drain and seepage, preventing disasters and pollution as well. 

CVC stated that encroachment or blockage of rivulets or disturbing the natural course of streams will not be tolerated and stringent action will be initiated on miscreants as per customary law of the village. 

CVC as resolved in its meeting has banned all kinds of bore-well or deep boring within Chümoukedima jurisdiction and defaulters will be penalized heavily and further course of action will also be initiated upon. It further stated that deep boring will only be permitted after thorough verification and conditions.
